Rumors
- Attitude Adjustments, du Jour
- ”Goaltending is a normal job, sure. How would you like it in your job if every time you made a small mistake, a red light went on over your desk and 15,000 people stood up and yelled at you.” – Jacques Plante Pride is good in small doses, but never something to depend on. With last [...]

- Islanders Week In Review
- I'll be updating this column weekly, tracking the season of the New York Islanders. The big story thus far has been the inactivity of franchise goalie Rick Dipietro. He finally received his first start of the year against Florida on Saturday night and let in a goal early on. However, he settled down afterwards and played reasonably well, keeping the Islanders in the game.
- Minnesota Wild 2008-2009 Season Preview
- Last season the Minnesota Wild won their first ever Northwest Division title but were ousted in the first round of the playoffs by the Colorado Avalanche. The big question for the Minnesota Wild this season is the whether or not they picked up enough goal scorers to make up for the players they lost in free agency. Here’s a quick rundown off who came and went, along with their scoring numbers from last year.
- Dallas Stars Season Preview: Making It Happen
- The Stars have a tough job this season. Last season, they came closer than they had in a long time to winning the Cup. The Stars were known as a “one-and-done” team, one of those teams that makes it to the playoffs consistently, but can’t get past the first round for whatever reason. I watched last year’s run with hope and hesitation, knowing what had happened in seasons before and not wanting to get my hopes too high. They went above and beyond what I, and many others, expected. Owner Tom Hicks has said that there’s a good feeling in the locker room this year, a feeling of hope, a feeling of strength, a feeling that they have what it takes to win it all. The team overcame adversity with injuries to key players, but that ended up helping in the long run, giving younger players a chance to shine and get some serious NHL ice time.

- New Jersey Devils At The Deadline
- New Jersey Devils (39-19-3) — 1st, Atlantic…3rd Conf. What got them there? Well honestly a resilient offense and timely goaltending from someone not named Martin Brodeur for most of the season is what got the Devils to this point. When Brodeur went down on November 1st…did anyone expect them to be in this position? No! Scott [...]
- Making Moves: Pens Deal Ryan Whitney
- The Pens give up on Ryan Whitney and look to make a playoff push.
- Tom Renney out, John Tortorella in
- And so the ongoing rumour came true, The Rangers changed their coach. Tortorella is a fiery coach, maybe that’s what the Rangers need, it’s true most of them are underperforming, but we can’t get too picky on a team that has lacked quality finishers all year long. On the other hand Renney, is NOT a bad coach, [...]
- Schneider Traded To Montreal
- The Montreal Canadiens have traded for Mathieu Schneider.
- Devils Trade Brookbank to Ducks
- The Devils traded defenseman Sheldon Brookbank to the Anaheim Ducks for the rights to center David McIntyre. The trade of Brookbkank opens up a spot for the Devils to add another player to their roster before the trade deadline.
